Throttled Again

Author: Chris Morris  //  Category: Uncategorized

Ahhh, I’m getting annoyed with AAPT now, I have been set back down to dial up AGAIN for going over our 15GB of bandwidth.

Last time this happened, we called them up and asked them if we could have any more bandwidth and they said no, 15GB is the limit, even if we paid more.

I have asked my parents if we can swap providers and they said no, even though the one that I am looking at is the same price and no setup fee (I’ll find the link later.)

So, sorry, but no or little website updates over the coming week.

Shizen Day

Author: Chris Morris  //  Category: Uncategorized

AngryWell today has been a really crappy day, it’s getting worse by the minute so excuse the language but I am really pissed off.

First off my new phones breaks

Second off, I miss todays school which is when Kevin Rudd Shows up

Third, CHASERS then arrived and I also missed that

Fourth, it’s BLOODY HOT.
So… how was your day?

GAAAHAAAAHAAAHAAAA

Mr. Rudd

I was on the way home from Echuca today so I missed school… DANG! Because Kevin Rudd, opposition leader for this Saturdays election was at my school and a kid fainted there as well, here is the news article:

I would have liked to meet Mr. Rudd but he will probably be visiting again in the future so, oh well, next time.

For those saying who’s Kevin Rudd? He is running for Prime Minister against John Howard this Saturday.

Unavailable Plus S500i/N95 Opinions

Author: Chris Morris  //  Category: Gadgets

Alright, just on a quick note, I won’t be able to update any of my sites over the next few days, nor will I be on any chat services.

On another note, the SE S500i is an awesome phone, if I had a choice of N95 or S500i with the N95 being $700 and the S500i being $200, I’d take the S500i, it has more features than a standard phone but doesn’t have as many options as the N95 does, the S500i is sleeker and thinner as the N95 is a brick.

Those are my opinions, I’ll try and do a video review and comparison later on in the week.

Free Time! New Phone!

WOOT! Just got hours of homework out of the way… well actually a couple days ago, but got everything printed and am all up-to-date with school work.

Oh, and by the way, I got the Sony Ericsson S500i, I’ll try doing a video review tonight.

Expect more updates to my sites over the coming weeks, school is coming to an end in 5 weeks, roughly.

Anyway, got to keep this post short, heading off to school soon.

Forget the N Series

I’ve decided that I am going to save up for a much better phone for next year and just go with a cheap, simple $200 Sony Ericsson S500i. Also, note that the phone does indeed look like a girly phone on their website but you have quite a few different themes on the phone so it can also look the exact opposite of girly.

I’m pretty sure I am going to get the green and black one and seeing as I couldn’t find very many videos of the S500i on YouTube I am going to post an un-boxing (seeing as a lot of people like to do that with phones) and then also post a review.

I really like the style of the phone, it even has customizable, coloured LED’s on each side of the phone. Not only can you choose a custom ring tone for different people who ring but you can also choose a lighting profile, pretty cool even though it is just something that they added to the phone.

As for the camera, it’s still pictures aren’t all that good or bad but the videos are shot in (I think) QCIF at 15fps, in other words, MMS quality.

One of the features I also like about the phone is that it has different animated backgrounds for you to choose from, though I am sure I can also choose a plain image but these animated themes also change with the time of day (eg. When day becomes night the colours change), the season (ie. Winter will have a different look from Summer’s theme) and special occasions such as Christmas.
An added note to that, you can also make the menu look like the standard SE menu, a cool flashy menu that light up with fades and also the PSP like menu, I might also find more once I get the phone.

Anyway, I should be getting one on Monday or Tuesday as PowerHouse are waiting for the shipment of 3 phones, lol.

Here is a simple video, have a look:

N95 Sold N81/N95 8GB Here I Come

Author: Chris Morris  //  Category: Gadgets, Personal

Well, I can’t remember if I had posted about this or not by a few weeks ago I sold my phone to my sister, it is her birthday coming up so I only sold it for $400, not going to get in to details about 3 and that but it is pretty much sorted out.

So, I’ve got $400 plus money that I am earning from my sites, not much (at the moment as there haven’t been many updates) but a bit extra pocket money to save up for the N81!

I’m not sure which one to get, N81 or N81 8GB.
N81 - has a card slot where you can put upto 4GB mini or micro SD (not sure) cards which means I can carry around my SD converter or usb SD adapter.
N81 8GB - No slot but 8GB of memory which means I need to carry around a usb cord if I need to connect it to a computer.

Then again, it also has WiFi, BlueTooth 2.0 with A2DP (wireless stereo headsets will work) and inferead, so I can pretty much transfer anything to a modern laptop these days, or upload it to my site.

The only thing I don’t like about the phone is the fact that it is VGA video recording with 15FPS, I really love having a camera in my pocket in an all-in-one device that has good camera quality for shooting video, and I know what a lot of you are thinking… “It’s only a phone camera”… whoop-dee-doo, it will do me for what I want to use it for.

This time I am not going to fall into a trap with any phone companies, I’m going to buy it outright and go on pre-paid which also means I don’t get charged on top of my bill for services like Jamster (although I don’t use them, it may come in handy).

A list of things I’d like to mention about the phone:

  • It has a standard 3.5 headphone jack instead of those annoying pop-ports that come loose every time you take a step.
  • It has a switch to lock your keypad, YAY! No more accidental unlocking and calling.
  • N-Gage gaming
  • Nokia Music store has been added, much like the iPhon, Ipod experience.
  • Expected to be around $900 - $1,000 USD and released on the 28th of November (29th for Aussies.)

Check out the phone at GSMarena.com

Comments welcome.

EDIT: Maybe I should get the N95 8GB.. hmmmm… Well with CES and 3GSM coming up I think I might wait a little while and see what new phones computers Nokia is going to introduce

1.5MBps, AussieFeral.com Downtime/Updates

Author: Chris Morris  //  Category: Major Announcements, New Site Progress, Personal, World Wide Web

Alright folks, expect more updates on Christheferal.com, TutNation.com, the new AussieFeral.com and another project in development.

Speaking of AussieFeral.com, sorry about the downtime I forgot to pay for the domain renewal for the next cycle.
It is all back up and running now.

Also, an update on the new AF entertainment site, I am going to work really hard over the next few weeks to get the new site working, weather it’s like tutnation is at the moment and will be for about the next how ever long it takes, in beta but with the main features working.
