Adobe HAS to Add This Feature

Author: Chris Morris  //  Category: Asking the Public, Cool Finds

Seriously, watch this video and you’ll know what I mean, this HAS to be included in CS5, everybody get on the email and send adobe a message asking to include this software, this is pretty darn nice!

I can seriously see myself using this a lot.

You can grab objects and move them around in the video and easily motion track objects, MUCH more powerful than what you can do in Adobe After Effects CS4. Plus, check out the rendering time, hardly takes a second!

This is just the thing I’d love, if anybody has a minute, PLEASE contact adobe and tell them how much you love them :P

This is a light wait application that I hope can be integrated into Adobe After Effects and Premiere Pro but the easiest way to see what it is, is.. well, to watch the video below. Feel free to leave a comment about this or any other great ideas you have (probably should tell adobe about those ideas)

The only feature I wish it had was the ability to actually move the objects around in the video, not just move the timeline on those objects… Then again, that would require a crap load of calculations, but then again, I’m just a person who always wants the best, enjoy the video!

CS4 - How to Get RID OF THAT LAG!

Author: Chris Morris  //  Category: How to, hdx

Okay, as you probably read in my post earlier, I am getting MAJOR lag with CS4 on my system.
Oh, and to give you an idea, here are my specs
-Intel Core 2 Duo Extreme 2.8Ghz each core.
-4gb ram
-8800M GTS with 512mb

Well, turns out the problem is bridge & other start up applications, boy oh boy does adobe have a lot of start up apps, I’ve disabled a lot and it runs MUCH MUCH nicer, its still slower than before, but its worth while.

Just a quick update, but yep!

No More CS4 No More! If That Makes Sense?

Author: Chris Morris  //  Category: Reviews, Opinions & Comparisons

Alrighty, so I called up adobe, and recorded the call (just in case I need it for future reference) and asked them, if the education version will allow me to publish my work. The lady on the phone said yes, the education edition does allow you to use your work commercially. I double checked, as in, repeated the question 3 times and she said yes yes yes.

So, it’s official, I can use the education edition for my websites. It also said an acadaemic ID is required, on the front of the box. I assume this is like a student ID that you get in TAFE or Uni etc - which I get one next year anyway. It never asked me for an ID, so not really sure what’s going on there, all I know is I have it installed, registered and running.

The installation process was VERY lengthy, I had to run down and put my laptop back on charge, so in other words, it took about 2 hours, then another hour on charge to install. 3 hours to install it all! BUT, it is WELL worth the wait, the installer was simple to use and only required 4 DVD’s for all the apps.

One downside though is I was an idiot and forgot to uninstall Fireworks CS4 Beta (which was a free trial, pre-release of the software from earlier in the year). So I uninstalled fireworks, and now I gotta try and figure out how to install it back without installing the whole suite again.

Another downside is that I was mislead into beleiving the whole suite was 64 bit, and sadly it’s only Photoshop & Acrobat Pro that is 64 bit. I am also going to be showing you the start up time for the applications. I was disapointed at this too, they said cs4 has many time savers, well, um, not as fast as CS3 for opening things. VERY slow.

ANOTHER downside is that my computer now takes FIVE minutes (up from 50 seconds) to boot Vista, it then freezes and I have to end explorer.exe and restart explorer, then it takes another couple of minutes before the damn thing works. VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY BAD FOR SOMETHING THAT COSTS OVER A FREAKING GRAND. VERY pissed off at this one.

In any case though, I’m happy that I have the newer features but feel really ripped off by adobe, to tell you the honest truth. Even the packaging was cheap… Anyway..

Logitech z5500! My Surround Sound System!

Author: Chris Morris  //  Category: Hardware, hdx

As you may remember, I got a z5500d (d for digital) surround sound system earlier in the year. It featured.. obviously the 5 satelite speakers and 1 MASSIVE BEAST OF A SUBWOOFER! The whole system reaches upto 1008 watts with the sub taking 500 of those watts all for its big manly self, lol.

Seriously though, if you are a bass junky (I am kinda, but I think my room is too small to have this at 100%, who knows) then you NEED TO GET THIS SYSTEM, this is amazing, THX certified too.

You can have upto 3 audio inputs and mess around with a couple simple, effective… effects to the audio, such as surround delay and panorama. I just use my HDX and iPod (occasionally) on the system.

I’ve uploaded (so far) 2 videos on the z5500, which can be viewed below, I WILL update this post as I add some more videos, make sure to subscribe to my youtube channel!

OVERVIEW VIDEO:

DEMONSTRATION VERSION 1 (WITH DUBBED AUDIO, SO THAT PEOPLE CAN KINDA HEAR THE MUSIC)

(oh, by the way, this was uploaded to show the sub moving etc)

More will be uploaded as I make more!

CS4 No More

Author: Chris Morris  //  Category: Uncategorized

I feel quite let down to be honest (READ THE UPDATED POST CLICK HERE!!!!). Not anywhere on the site nor email confirmation did it say that the CS4 I ordered was an education edition. So when I got it, I gave it straight back :(

Why can’t I use the education edition?

Well, first, I can NOT publish my work.
Second, I can’t do tutorials on the software.
Third, I need to be in TAFE or University to actually activate them.

For me to get the full version I’m going to need another $1600 - $2000.

I’ve lost a lot of motivation now, I was expecting to receive exactly what I ordered, and I didn’t…

The End is Here. YouTube FINALLY in HD

Author: Chris Morris  //  Category: World Wide Web

In case you haven’t been on the tubes past the last 24 hours, Youtube has gone 1024px wide and now supports 720p content (not sure if it’s actually 1280×720 or the standard 1366 x 768 or what it is, but its wider :P - that’s also what she said.)

I reckon this is the end for all online video services competition, sites like Vimeo will no longer be needed, youtube will be a one-stop-shop for videos. Did I mention they signed a deal with MGM to offer slightly older movies on youtube in high quality. Maybe we will see Youtube add a “Movies” tab?

Moving Rooms

Author: Chris Morris  //  Category: MY Videos, PHP Tutorials, Personal, hdx, internet/computers

Today I started moving my bedroom up to the other end of the halway, if I don’t like it I’ll move back next weekend, but hopefully I’ll be able to get my room setup with my own, custom made LED’s spread across the back of the desk so that I can change the colour of my room in the dark to any colour I like.

I’ll be setting up my HDX with a secondary monitor on the desk, and eventually buy another monitor and plug in my custom made PC (not really going to be used as a PC for long, only temporary, it’s purpose isn’t to replace my HDX, by far, in fact it isn’t going to be used as a PC soon after (couple of months, after the screen.)

Anyway, I’ll also have my z5500 surround sound, 10 inch sub, DOOF DOOF setup in the room, hopefully will be good. I’ll also be able to do my tutorials sooner because I won’t have my sister talking in the background on the clips.

Anyway, thought I’d let you know what’s all going on, and hopefully for Christmas I get a custom built desk, which.. actually.. works out cheaper that a standard desk.

I might do a tour of my bedroom later on on the tubes. That’s it for now, I can’t WAIT to get CS4 on Wednesday!

InsomniNOT

Author: Chris Morris  //  Category: Personal

I’m glad to let you all know, that I have finally gotten my sleeping patterns in to something I like and is MUCH less stressing, in fact, I now have motivation to wake up with only 6 1/2 hours sleep, whereas before, I needed at least 8.

I now go to bed at 9-9:30pm and wake up at 4:30-5am.
Call me crazy if you like, but I like this new pattern for 3 reasons!

1) I get to speak with both my mates in Australia AND overseas.
2) I am going to WANT to wake up because I have 4 hours to burn, instead of wake up and RUSH RUSH RUSH for school. Oh and by the way, school can be very boring.
3) I get some quiet time and my full nights rest without stress, in fact, I am just finishing a 1000 word essay for homework now, I’m already up to 1500 words and more to come.

Anyway, I am no longer “Insomniac.” To give you an idea on what Insomnia is, it’s basically where you lay down and you just CAN’T STOP THINKING, and it SUCKS! At least, that’s one of many reasons as to why you can’t sleep, this is just the symptom I was suffering from. Anyway.. I can sleep better now, it only took me 45 - 60 minutes last night to fall asleep, compared to 5 hours, that’s 500% improvement.

I think I am falling to sleep faster now because I am less stressed about waking up and can clear my mind. The only reason I couldn’t fall asleep faster last night, even though I was tired, was because I was thinking about CS4 and it’s wonderful features LOL!

Anyway, I’m much happier now, less headaches and am generally feeling better, plus, I get to have my showers in the morning now which is much more refreshing than having them the night before.
