In case you haven’t been on the tubes past the last 24 hours, Youtube has gone 1024px wide and now supports 720p content (not sure if it’s actually 1280×720 or the standard 1366 x 768 or what it is, but its wider

I reckon this is the end for all online video services competition, sites like Vimeo will no longer be needed, youtube will be a one-stop-shop for videos. Did I mention they signed a deal with MGM to offer slightly older movies on youtube in high quality. Maybe we will see Youtube add a “Movies” tab?
